THE ADVANTAGE OF BREADTH

More than a collection of lessons.

For a home-educated pupil, I can take responsibility for a substantial proportion of the academic programme. Teaching several subjects allows me to understand their workload as a whole and make useful connections across the curriculum.

Families can maintain one strong educational relationship rather than coordinate numerous separate tutors. Past families have particularly valued this continuity and the ability to adjust the balance of subjects as priorities change.

Homeschooling requires both good teaching and careful organisation. I work with parents to establish an appropriate curriculum, a workable timetable, and clear goals. We review progress and adapt as the pupil develops.

FLEXIBLE EDUCATION FOR DEMANDING SCHEDULES

Education that moves with the pupil.

Aspiring professional athletes, young people travelling for training or competition, and internationally mobile families often need a timetable that can change from week to week.

Lesson times, homework expectations, and overall workload can flex around travel, competition, and changing time zones. I keep sight of examinations and longer-term goals while responding to the demands of the week.

HOME EDUCATION & MOTOR RACING

Alex, James, and Oliver: learning around the racing calendar.

I supported Alex through his IGCSEs while he competed in Formula 4, and James and Oliver through their A Levels while they competed in Formula 3. All three travelled internationally, so their education needed to move with them.

For Alex, I taught Mathematics, English, Chemistry, and Physics, with broader academic support where appropriate. Maintaining continuity helped him achieve grades in the 7–8 range across the relevant subjects while keeping up his racing commitments.

Across all three programmes, I adjusted lesson times, homework, and workload around racing calendars, international travel, and changing time zones. Some pupils also sat examinations at international exam centres, which I helped coordinate.

For substantial home-education programmes, one hour of academic administration is charged for each five hours of teaching. This covers planning, preparation, scheduling, and progress reporting.
