BACKGROUND

Across subjects. Across education systems.

Over six years of private tuition, I have taught over a hundred students across the Scottish and English curricula, working with families in the UK and internationally. My teaching spans both STEM and humanities, from focused subject tuition to substantial home-education programmes.

I hold a BA (Hons) in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of Manchester. That breadth informs how I teach: I enjoy helping pupils understand how ideas connect, while maintaining close attention to each subject’s demands.

MY APPROACH

A relationship that develops over time.

I want to understand more than how a pupil performs during an hour-long lesson. Their confidence, workload, interests, and ambitions all affect how they learn. Building rapport makes it easier to identify difficulties and offer the right kind of challenge.

My experience includes school entrance preparation, home education, and mentoring. I support organisation, goal setting, and accountability, and can be available to families beyond scheduled lessons where appropriate and agreed.

WORKING WITH FAMILIES

Thoughtful, individual support.

I have experience working with pupils with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and dyscalculia, adapting the pace and structure of lessons around their needs.

I have also supported pupils whose wellbeing has made academic work difficult. My role is to offer steady educational support and mentoring, alongside any appropriate support already in place. I do not act as a counsellor or healthcare professional.

LET’S BEGIN WITH A CONVERSATION

Tell me what your child needs.

Every arrangement begins with a complimentary 30-minute introductory conversation. We can discuss the pupil’s current position, objectives, and timetable, and decide whether I am the right person to help.

I usually respond within a few hours on weekdays.
